Love to draw lines, cross-hatch and stipple or want to learn how and then add color to create vibrant artwork, then this course is for you! This series of six classes will take you from sketches to a finished drawing render in black ink (micron pens) and color medium of your choice, watercolor pencils, watercolors, color pencil and or color inks. Composition, use of line, hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, thick/thin line variation will be explored to create texture in value in your drawing. Subjects covered range from still life to landscape or you may select your own. Please bring in photographs that you would consider using as a reference. Exploration of texture, different types of texture, exercise creating various types of texture for your final artwork 2. Medium and techniques (Black & White) for exploration of texture;use of Micron black archival pens to create: various types of lines, hatching, cross-hatching stippling, thick/thin line variation, scribbling and invented textures. 3. Color medium and techniques to add a layer or more of vibrant color; enhance the black and white composition. Exploration of watercolor pencils, watercolors, and or color inks. 4. Creating Testers - demonstration each edia and technique on same paper as final art with different media to test out what works and what does not work. 5. Composition, includes the three components of art; Subject, Form, and Content. The use of achieving Organic Unity in the composition by the integrating the formal elements of art with the principles of organization. 6. Subject: Please select a series of photographs or images that you would want to work from and bring to first session. Subjects covered range from still life to landscape, seascape to abstract art. Whatever your preference would be. 7. Steps in Process: 1st Selection of Subject/Image, 2nd Tester sheet with pen & ink and different types of line and textures, 3rd tracing paper compositional layout; contour line drawing, 4th transferring final compositional layout to high grade Bristol board or watercolor paper, 5th Creating black and white art with Micron Pen on Bristol board or watercolor paper, 6th color media and technique tester to work out what colors and type of medium works best, 7th adding color to final art.
