"This Alla Prima oil painting class will teach you how to approach painting with less angst, more confidence and knowledge. We will practice the skills necessary to paint quickly, accurately and beautifully. Soon you will be making a painting a day and I’ll help you learn how.

Classes will work as follows:

The 4 week class is open to students at any level. I usually lecture on a topic for the first 45 minutes. Advanced students may work on their own from the start or after the lecture. I will critique their work periodically. Others may choose to follow the lecture and do my recommended exercise. For very new students I may pull them aside and give a second lecture to explain some rudimentary painting topics.

If you are new to painting, it would be best to come the first week and learn about the kit you will need to paint with before purchasing supplies. It will save you having to buy twice and prevent you from having useless extra supplies. If you do have supplies, bring them. I could give you a recommended list but it is hard to explain in writing. It is much easier to explain when I can show you particulars. Feel free to email or call me with questions."
